Target Audience:

This program is intended to update practicing internists, family medicine physicians, primary care physicians, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, vascular surgeons, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, residents and fellows on current topics in cardiovascular disease.


Learning Objectives

After participating in this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe advanced therapies such as cardiac resynchronization therapy and mechanical circulatory assistance for refractory heart failure patients
  • Explain the importance of risk assessment with respect to new lipid guidelines and primary prevention
  • Identify the risks and benefits of mitral valve replacement vs. repair   
  • Define the indications for open surgical repair vs. EVAR
  • Discuss the latest diagnostics and treatment strategies for patients with DVT/PE, AF, CAD and PAD
