This continuing medical education (CME) program is provided by Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and is intended for all physicians, particularly neurologists and neurological surgeons, family practice and internal medicine physicians, interested in the latest advances in the management of neurological disorders.
Upon completion of this educational activity, the participant should be able to:
- Explain the stroke risk associated with symptomatic and asymptomatic carotid stenosis and the role of the leading treatment options
- Recognize the need for improved awareness of pediatric strokes and the efficacy and safety of prescribed therapies for this population
- Describe the clinical characteristics, natural history, and treatment of cerebellar pleomorphic xanthoastrocytomas
- Evaluate caregiver burden in Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease compared to other forms of dementia
