Emergency Medical Services Fellowship

The Division of Prehospital and Disaster Medicine at University Hospitals has been approved to offer an ACGME-Accredited EMS fellowship with the inaugural class starting July 1, 2018.

The University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine ACGME-Accredited EMS Fellowship will provide the fellow with the fundamentals of prehospital medicine as well as a comprehensive experience in EMS medical direction over the course of one year. Multiple opportunities exist for professional growth within the areas of education, clinical expertise, and research.

- EMS medical direction and education:

- Experience with Special Operations, including tactical medicine and HazMat response.

- Leadership and participation in development and delivery of medical care at large scale mass gathering events, including:

    • First Energy Stadium, Home of the Cleveland Browns

    • Cleveland Marathon

- Longitudinal experience in emergency management and disaster preparedness

UH CLEVELAND MEDICAL CENTER

UH Cleveland Medical Center

University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) is a 1,032-bed Magnet facility on the campus of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) located in the cultural heart of Cleveland's University Circle neighborhood.

UHCMC is a verified Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and STEMI Center. The Department of Emergency Medicine hosts a three-year emergency medicine residency training program with 10 residents per year. UHCMC also includes Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, which is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center.

UHCMC is a teaching affiliate with the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
