LEARNING OBJECTIVES

After attending this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the tests necessary to discover the underlying cause of anemia and administer the appropriate therapy to manage this condition
  • Identify and manage patients whose medical problems are caused or exacerbated by substance abuse disorders
  • Diagnose and treat the most common movement disorders
  • Recognize the physiologic changes that occur in women during midlife and counsel those patients in the adaptive changes necessary to optimize health and functioning
  • Identify when to order a cardiovascular test for a patient and identify the appropriate test
  • Recognize and treat a sleep disorder

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

This event is designed for health care providers of primary care services, including physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants (APPs).

 

EDUCATIONAL DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

The program will consist of didactic lectures followed by a question and answer session and panel discussion.

Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 4.0 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

CME activities approved for AAFP credit are recognized by the AOA as equivalent to AOA Category 2 credit.

Nurses and Physician Assistants
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) accept AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM toward recertification requirements.
